Thanks to tremendous response to the 2007 Pirates on the Pungo, we raised over $17,000 for the Pungo District Hospital Foundation, enabling funding for upgraded mammography equipment, patient transport/reclining chairs and partial replacement of patient room furniture. Your participation in the 2008 Pirates on the Pungo Regatta will fund quarterly classes for nurses and Hospital staff, additional equipment upgrades and refurnishing patient

Pirates on the Pungo Regatta is back in Belhaven on July 18 -20 to raise funds for the Pungo District Hospital Foundation.

The Foundation’s mission is to raise money for equipment and training that Pungo District Hospital cannot otherwise afford. The Hospital serves the healthcare needs over 25,000 citizens in eastern Beaufort and Hyde Counties . As a 501-C3 nonprofit organization, Pungo District Hospital is funded solely by financial support from community donations , state and federal grants and patient services

You can make the 2008 Pirates on the Pungo Regatta bigger and better than ever! Your contributions go directly to support Pungo District Hospital. Regatta operational and promotional expenses come from race entry fees, product and service donations, shore pass and Regatta Wear sales , and a cash bar during the Buccaneer Bash.

" The Pirates on the Pungo 2007 regatta was well-planned and well-executed. The events of the weekend seemed to go off without a single hitch, even to the cooperation of the wind. ... The fact that I am supporting the local hospital while having all this fun is just icing on the cake"
